So far...

I have done everything apart from the official filming. The reason for this is because the person starring in my video has other commitments, so it was very difficult to organise days to film. I am filming tonight. I have old footage that I have practised with my chosen song. This was done so I knew when each cut should be and how many scenes I will need.

At the moment during my media lesson, I am taking a huge amount of photos that I will group together through Pinnacle Studios where the images will create a short video. The images will be of a note pad where I have written down some of the music lyrics to the song, Picking Up The Pieces.

Practising

I have filmed a small number of different scenes to use in my music video.
I have used all the scrap footages and created them into one mini video
where I have imported a piece of music so the footage will make cuts
and transitions on the correct beat. I did this with Pinnacle Studios
and published it as a movie, however I will need to upload the video
through another software: either Youtube or Vimeo. I will do this when
I return back from my 1 week trip to Kenya with school.

Side of Album

Here on the left is the side of my Album. I have used the same colours that are used on both front and back cover of the album. The design is plain, simple and bright which helps it appeal to the target market.

Redone: Final Design of Album Back Cover

Here is my final design of my Album Back Cover. I have decided to use this design because it has a modern, sleek, proffesional appearance. Its bright which will most definatley catch the eye of customers and it gives off a happy vibe, with the help from the bright happy colours and the smile of the models face, I'm sure no customers would walk out of a shop without buying this album!

3rd Draft of Album Back Cover

After the previous designs I then decided to recreate the layout of the cover. So I decided to add two different coloured banner which compliment one another, so I chose the colours, pink and green, I used green because it co-ordinates with the colour of the curlers in my models hair. Once I designed this back cover, I thought the appearance was much better and looked more proffesional then any of my other designs. I added a few more features to this design and now I finally have my final design which I will upload on my next post.

2nd Draft of Album Back Cover

Here I developed the font by changing each piece of text to a different size making it more effective however once I added the image to the background I didn't think it was good enough, so from this stage I then continued to create more designs until I was happy with one of them. Also as you can see on this new design I had added new text, which is seen at the bottom of the design, the font discusses Copyright and magagement company etc. I thought it was a good idea to add it because all exsisting Albums all discuss this topic on the back of there albums.

1st Improvement of Album Back Cover

The first improvement to the Back of the Album was changing the font back to Arial.
I thought it slightly improved the appearance but still didn't convince me that it was good enough to use as my final design. So then I continued designing, which will be shown on the nect few posts.

Song List

The song listing is previewed on the back of the Album, here is the listing below:

1. Only One
2. Old Friend
3. A Chapter Away
4. Who Knows?
5. Picking Up The Pieces
6. I'm Here
7. Touch
8. Another Day
9. Halo (cover)

Previous design of Album: Back

Here is the first design of my album back cover, over the past few days I have doubted the design and thought that I could improve the appearance and make it something attractive and unique. So over the recent days I have produced fresher designs with extra features on.

Changes

Over the past few days I have been carefully observing my final designs for my CD back cover, I have decided that the appearance isn't as effective as it can be. I know I am capable of achieving a better design. So during the past few days I have been redesigning the Album back over, I have produced a variety of designs and then merged them all together to create my final design. On the next post will be the different designs I have created and then ofcourse the finished final copy.

Timing: of the Lyrics

(0.12) Do you think of her (0.16)
When you're with me (0.19)
Repeat the memories you made together (0.22)
Who's face do you see? (0.26)
Do you wish (0.30) I was a bit more like her? (0.33)
Am I too loud?, (0.35)
I play the clown, (0.37)
To cover up all these doubts. (0.41)
(0.42) Perfect heart, (0.44)
she's flawless (0.45.5)
She's the other woman, (0.49)
Shining in her splendor, (0.52)
You were lost, (0.55)

(0.55.5) Now she's gone (0.58)
(0.59) And I'm picking up the pieces, (1.01)
I watch you cry, (1.04)
But you don't see (1.05)
That I'm the one by your side. (1.09)

(1.10) Cause she's gone, (1.11)
In her shadow is it me you see? (1.16)
Cause all that's left is you and I (1.20)
And I'm picking up the pieces (1.23)
She left behind (1.25.5)
(1.27) I found a photograph (1.29) behind the TV (1.33)
You look so happy, (1.35)
are you missing (1.37) the way it used be? (1.41)
And I have changed this room around more often lately (1.47)
It's clear that me (1.49) and these four walls (1.51)
Still know it's hers and yours (1.56)
Perfect heart, (1.58) she's flawless (1.59.5)
She's the other woman, (2.02)
Shining in her splendor, (2.07)
You were lost (2.09) (beginning of make- up smudging)

Now she's gone, (2.12)
And I'm picking up the pieces (2.16)
I watch you cry (2.17)
But you don't see (2.20)
That I'm the one (2.22)
by your side, (2.23)

Cause she's gone, (2.26)
In her shadow is it me you see? (2.30)
Cause all that's left is you and I (2.34)
And I'm picking up the pieces (2.37)
She left behind (2.39)
Are we liars (2.41) in denial? (2.43)
Are we smoke without the fire? (2.46)
Tell me please, (2.48) is this worth it (2.50)
I deserve it (2.51) Cause she's gone (2.55)
And I'm picking up the pieces (2.58)

I watch you cry (3.00)
But you don't see (3.02) that I'm the one by your side (3.05)
Cause she's gone, (3.07) In her shadow is it me you see? (3.12)
Cause all that's left (3.14) is you and I (3.16)
And I'm picking up the pieces (3.20)
She left behind (3.22)

EXTRA OHH & ARHHS: (3.22-4.03)

(3.24) Ohh I’m picking up the pieces
(3.27) Broken heart
(3.31) who will save them?

Designing Album Front Cover

Here are the stages of my Album Front Cover, in the first 3 stages I experimented with the layout of the text for the cover:

Here is stage 1:

 Here is stage 2:
 Here is stage 3:
Here is stage 4 where I have captured my model posing with curlers in her hair to show a 'house wife' type of theme:
Here in stage 5, I have brightened up the image and changed the contrast to improve the appearance of the image:
Here is the 6th and final stage where I have changed the auto levels and contrast of the image to create something unique and different. To perform these editing techniques I used Macromedia Firework editing software.

Designing Album Back Cover

Here is my Album Back Cover where I captured a natural expression on my models face. I throught the emotion shown on the back cover would warm the hearts of the target market because it could make think that it reflects on the songs in the album, happy and joyfull which is what most customers look for.

Here is stage 1:

Here is stage 2 where I have cropped and brightened the image, through Macromedia Fireworks Software:
Here is stage 3 of the template of what the back of the album would be like, including the song lists:

Here is my final stage where I have faded the image and put it in the background:

Designing Single Cover

Here is the single cover of the song I am using in my music video.
Below are all the stages:

Here is stage 1 where Krysia Knox (model) is sat at a dressing table with the song title written on the mirror with lipstick:
Stage 2 has been embossed around the edge of the image, I used this effect as an experiment to see whether it makes the image more attractive and effective:
Stage 3 I decided not to use the embossing frame so instead I brightened the colour of the lipstick written on the mirror to ensure it was clear to read for the target audience:
Here is my 4th and final stage where I darkened the image and used contrasting effects to make the image look more appealing and attractive:

Designing Music Album Advert

Here are the stages of designing my magazine advert of my music video.
Here is stage 1 with a basic photo of Krysia Knox doing her make-up:
Here is stage 2 where the contrast and brightness has been enhanced to improve the appearance of the image:
Here is stage 3 where I have began adding a banner and text:
On stage 4 I have tried adding text without the banner:
Now on stage 5 I have brought back the banner and changed the text again:
Here stage 6 I have been experimenting on lay out and colour of the text:
Here on stage 7 is my final copy:
